Like I always say to hapless newbies, stay clear of the Magot's Farm, unless you are really strong or have the patience to collect mushrooms/flasks and find suitable terrain to fight Dunlending safely (burn something, confuse him, blind him, hide, etc.). Good point about resistance. Potions of resist cold would help there, but putting them in Hobbiton shops would be unfair to unspoiled people. However, putting them in the Farm building...
