But was playing without Superstealth really best? While you can't assassinate uniques, you can still hit them with criticals. I'm not sure, but I think I have had ninjas take 2 stars off the Destroyer on occassion. Rare, but possible. Anyway, congrats!

My damage output is good, but not stellar. For a character that is trying to battle without using healing, I think I need some more improvements. Diatribe would certainly add the decisive +20 damage, but I could benefit from Cambeleg and a better ring of attacks as well. Or perhaps Tulkas instead.

Re: Nuku Nuku, I had Superstealth most of the time, but just not wielding any light source.. but in the end, I decided there wasn't really any weapon I had better than Sting, and since I hadn't found ANY sources of Darkness, I decided I might as well pick up Telepathy from Palantir if I'm going to lose Superstealth anyway.

Holy Cannoli! Gotta love that Vorpal Blade! It is one of the few weapons that can get by with just 5 attacks. I think Songmaster is better, but that is only due to its vampirism since they both do about equal damage output, and *Co is not such a big plus over the near permanent double resistance that Mindcrafters have. An extra 3 points of speed wouldn't hurt, but I thing +2 Str and Con is infinitely better than +5 Int and Chr ... at least for this character.

So here is a neat trick, one that I have never seen before. Brand was wanted, so I carefully killed him with the death blow landing while I was hasted, double resisting, resisting shards, anti-magic'd and at full hp, as one should always do when killing amberites (don't forget ASC), when the expected curse goes off. But one of the effects was to entomb Brand in the rock! So, not only is their no corpse drop, there is no item drop period! No chance for the crossbow or even Werewindle. But he is still dead ... grumble.

[1] Greater dragons have really good drops. Storm Wyrms and up are really worth killing in great numbers.
[2] The Lair has some nice terrain features which can be exploited. If you are fighting a foe that lacks levitation, then you can setup where you can simply back away from the fight safely and rest if needed. I killed the Yamata-no-Orochi this way, and it was probably the only way I could have done so at the time.
[3] Killing greater dragons at DL72 (the bottom of the lair) is a nice way to garner rings of speed.
[4] Killing dragons is *fun* :-)

Regarding Ninjas, well, alot of the good ninja weapons have been removed. Silver Chariot was the best weapon and is gone, but other sad losses include Merlin and Excalibur Jr. Though the Falcon Sword of Destruction has been improved since the TY curse was dropped.
