Anyway, the story of Mikhail is the story of a grizzled old revolutiounary, dragged to the centre of the earth by forces unknown, and emboldened to call upon his traditional resources and pride in the October Revolution to fight his way to the surface.

Mikhail at first seemed an unlikely canidate for any sort of quest; his natural talent was enduring harm, not causing it. But as he tapped into both the powerful spheres of Arcane magic, and the Spiritual forces of prayer, he found that, combined with his surprising aptitude for the martial arts, he was a match for anything.

He even later stumbled upon an appropriately powerful hammer, although because there are no sickles, or at least so he thinks, his attempt to hack and slash Fu Manchu to death at the same time failed. Relying on his magic and his hammer for most encounters with hostile forces, his martial arts and dark enchantments for serious brawls, and a good sense of humour for other times, he managed to destroy the evil beneath the surface for the glory of country and comrade.

It is said that he stores a bottle of wine in his house for his triumphant return to the bottom of the Earth, where he is continuing to reside.

The martial arts/magic combo works really nicely with gentlemen, though I found both to be pretty wimpy in the early going (hard to survive with those little icebolts), though Martial Arts is pretty powerful at the end. That robe of the Djinn princess is quite something, as I recall.
