His quest isn't so much killing the serpent, instead he's an undercover agent in the realms of evil trying to gather as much information as possible before biting the dust. A rod of probing I bought very early from the BM was hands down one of the best investments ever. Esp. cause until very recently he was a walking resistance hole. His offspring will have a much easier time with an excellent monster memory. But who knows, atm he's doing nicely.

Resist sound always seems to be my resistance hole too...heh. I dunno about those rods of Disarming though...my last Ninja (a Kutar) also had disarming skill of "chaos rank" and I don't remember him ever setting off a trap at that level (when he had to bother to disarm it of course)...

Tiamat dropped Brands crossbow, which has (prob. random) rSound. Nice, finally all resists covered. Meanwhile nearly every level has one, if not two vaults (without autoscum). Which I usually ignore. Thanks for your comment about -Disarming. Never used them. Carried them around for all those vaults I cease to enter:). Further comments about equiq and such are greatly appreciated.

Thanks for all the advice. Quickwalk is great, I ignored it most of the time. Unfortunaly I also ignored poison needle, and now with lvl 50 it's quite tedious getting the skill up. Sigh. I doubt I'll have the patience training it to master.

Yes my stealth was low. I woke up half of erics stronghold. Switched to escapee loosing some 50 dmg, but subjectivly it doesn't matter. Does stealth only affect the chance of a monster waking up or also the chance of a monster spotting me when in shadow? Hard to tell.

I found crown of amber right beneath my feet when recalling. I'd like to use it - obviously- but I really need ESP. Which leaves amulet of telepathy as my only source atm. So pitch dark night is out. Any hope to find a lamp of darkness or something like that? If so, where to look for it?

The list of remaining uniques is finally shrinking. 35 to go with 10 high level ones. Though haven't meet the unicorn yet. Nodens was the first one -prolly not the last - who forced me to use !*healing*. I'm glad I wasn't greedy cause he mana stormed me immediately after his psyco-spear. OTOH it was one of the shortest battles ever, his habit of teleporting with me - and getting rid of all his summons - was very handy.

If you're willing to use healing items, Nodens can be a lot easier if you fight him inside the walls. Just make sure you Stone to Mud somewhere before you defeat him so you can collect his items :)

My healing rods are due to some heavy scumming. Has a lot to do with the fact, that I'm reluctant to go for the big fish. I simply don't know, what to expect. I even don't know if I can bail out if things go wrong. So far all quests were 'do it now or fail'. OTOH I'm not too fond of my characters, I don't mind loosing a char as long as the game was interesting. And it certainly was.
