Looking for my rogue's successor. Thought about doing "Sexy Fat Lady", the Sexy Half Titan Bard. But ended up doing a mighty hobbit Archer instead.

Early going is easy, but could be oh so much easier once a Long Bow is acquired. Took nearly 2.5 hours for one to show up in the Black Market, but now, things are looking better. Its this time in the game where I spend all my money enchanting ammo ...

Bo Staff of Westernesse is courtesy of Wormtongue. I'll scum around 1000' until armor of resistance shows up ... either in the dungeon, or in the shops.

Picked CON as my L10 and L20 stat boosts. Plus 2 other random CON boosts as I'm already at 18/81. Its about time I got lucky with my CON intrinsic :-)

Well, I avenged my Bard by slaying 'It', and the result was Celegorm. Pretty nice. Shortly thereafter, some filthy rags ... of Elvenkind. Now I am Amber[5] stealth. I think a stealthy Archer is quite powerful. Just need a really good bow, and things will be looking very nice indeed!

I have been spending my time in the Castle, but I'm starting to run into Logrus Masters on a regular basis (last level had 3). That's too much for me, so I think I'll try to break thru the 1200' barrier in Angband and descend down to 1600' hoping for stat gain.

Oh, and the Long Bow of Extra Shots was purchased. I've yet to see a Long Bow in the dungeon, so I'm really grateful to the Black Market!

Checklist before the Cloning Pits:
[1] Resist Poison
[2] Resist Chaos
[3] Levitation
[4] 2 stacks of 99 Seeker Arrows
[5] 1 stack of 99 Arrows
[6] At least 30 sources of speed boost (Come on BM, I need some staves of Speed!!)
[7] 5 potions of Resistance
[8] 5 potions of Healing
[9] A bunch of Resist Heat for the Fire Ants

So I'm not quite ready yet ...

Also, first time I allowed my Archer to use Seeker Arrows. Very sweet. And I'm only dishing out about 50% the damage of a full up Archer! Time to prepare for the Old Castle. I think I need:

I should have speed and healing covered as is. And I can make more Seeker Arrows (Lost 36 in the Cloning Pits!!).

Found an awesome randart bow. Plusses aren't as high as bard, but its 4x with +4 to speed and stealth. Plus Poison, Confusion and Disenchantment resistance. Very sweet. The result is that I have become Uber Stealthy, at Amber [17]. Stealth is very nice for an Archer, as you can set up across the room from sleeping monsters, and then kill them as they try to *slowly* walk towards you :-) I think it was Elliot who pointed out that Archers, with their low energy single shot turns, are less susceptible to the dreaded double move. He's right, and I feel better about using Hagen vs. Hurin despite the fact that Hurin would net my hp over 800. I feel like the +3 speed and +3 stealth (plus darkness resistance) win out at the moment. Still, I'll work the top of the Dragon's Lair for a couple more levels, just to be safe.

Well, I just completed my power dive from DL60 to DL72 in the Dragon's Lair. I've been reminded *not* to tangle with GWoChaos. Sure, they are deadly enough. But they also love to destroy my precious Seeker Arrows with their Chaos breath! I really hate that ...

No Antimagic though. But my Saving Throw is a high Chaos Rank. Dare I risk killing an Amberite??
