Here's my first try with the new brigand-class in NPPAngband (WIP 9). He has had some luck in the early days (Boots of speed +6 at 1400 ft and some nifty quest rewards). By far the most dangerous moment were when facing his own ancestor ... a player ghost who manabolted (I think it was - very heavy damage anyway) for huge amounts. The new many-headed hydras has also caused some problems.

At this dump he's equipped for the last quest he completed (Elder Vampires), hence equipment choice for *Slay Undead* and Nether res etc. He'll re-equip beore venturing forth again.

This'll be my last character in the WIP's, since the 040 Beta has just come out. It's not savefilecompatibel, so I can't transfer this dude.

Azathoth gave Finwe most trouble of all the uniques thus far, but finally he managed to get the big U's mana down and then he was doable.

Just rearranged the equipment to get immunities. Now I'll dive further - doing the monster/uniques quests all the way down. Also vaults ifavailable. My last character in NPP I went with stronghold quests. This time I do the opposite.

I played this character more or less like a warrior. Now - with the bugfixes for stealing/stealth changes made for the Beta - I'd have tried out a Brigands special abilities more. This was of course played with 040 WIP9 (had to edit the title to get oook to accept the dump). I think I'll try it in the future though - another class now.

I can hear the faint cries of my 040 Beta2 Dwarf Priest sitting at 500 ft, pleading for me to help him out ... although I've tried to take 24 hours (almost) off *banding. =)
