Finialy got this character to ground level. I do like the ring I picked up (+13 to int, wis, and speed). I regret having left several dozen(!) artifacts down there for later discovery, and wonder what other randarts I missed because of that. Well, it took several tries, but I got out with the one item I wanted - Rot tip of Drain Life.
I found the staff of sense monsters to be priceless when moving around on level 98. The rings and ,wands, and rods gave me the teeth to deal with lesser critters (Vortex of cold, Troll Pit, etc). Time to get settled into town. Hmm good question, where is town? ;)
