What kept this char going was the first piece of jewelry having a firestorm activation - great for softening the early uniques.

I nearly just lost her when I hit the Moria special level. Got surrounded by three Wolf Chieftains and promptly terrified. Tried to phase but it still left me within reach. Teleport spell landed me (still terrified) in the middle of the central cavern surrounded by cave dweller types. Phase again didn't help. I used my one and only ?Teleport to land in a cave of sleeping ogres - phew. I dug myself into the wall for cover (unfortunately my only trap was already set before I teleported), but then disaster - the Wolf Chieftains found a route through to me. I quaffed the !heroism and !speed I was saving for Mim and managed to kill two before the Heroism wore off and then I was promptly terrified by the remaining one. I started chucking throwing weapons and using what healing I had, somehow my HP held out and the Chieftain died. I then had to keep plugging away with arrows at the awakened ogres and orcs until the fear wore off.

So I'm still alive, but a long way from the only exit from Moria and am out of escapes and healing except for some charges on a _CureMediumWounds... I'll do well to get off this level, never mind progress further. I hate special levels when playing ironman...

I find a play too sloppily with intrinsic ESP. I don't detect enough and I lost a !Healing to a cold vortex in a dark room. I lit the room up next turn so I could target it and it destroyed another !Healing... typical.

I really should have bailed out a lot earlier. I hate gnawing bugs. Unless you can kill the first one, it is almost impossible to redeem the situation.
