    favicon.ico igrnored by Firefox 3.x

    Apparently Firefox 3.0 ignores the old (Microsoft) favicon default file:

    It does, however, allow the official w3c version:

    <link rel="shortcut icon" href="/favicon.ico" />

    So the nice black '@' symbol is getting ignored for a boring generic web page.

    I'm using Firefox 3.0.1, and it's all OK for me.

      damn, it's probably a cache problem. I've been using a flaky wireless cxn. When fetchbfaips for favicon.ico, FF never looks again. Flushing the cache works. Anyway, the link attribute is preferred, I think.

        One line does not hurt anyone, so I have added it. But not to forums - forums are hacked up templates and changing them well, there be dragons.
