So let me start. I'm the overlord around here, obviously hehe. No honestly. I do run Angband.oook.cz website, that's all. Oh and I actually play Angband from time to time. Have elven ranger going pretty well in NPP.See the elves and everything! http://angband.oook.cz -
Oh. Missed being the first user other than Pav by just over an hour.
I mostly play ToME and Steam, but haven't really played much lately.
Started with vanilla 2.9.7. Switched to ToME when the JLE patch was absorbed into the official game. Not much else important to say here. One Ring to rule them all. One Ring to bind them.
One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness interrupt the movie.Comment

Greetings. I'm the guy making the autotools-based buildsystem not suck completely. I'd have used CMake, but it's kind of hard to use a system where you don't know why things are breaking. *shrug*"The Earth...is for the living. The dead have neither rights nor powers on it." -- Thomas Jefferson

I've been playing for about a decade now, on and off. I remember when this site was first conceived, and I love how it has progressed! Keep up the good work, Pav!Oh, Mr. Speaker, I had underestimated the tenderness of the feelings of the members opposite.

I'm a humble follower of the UnAngband way, but I sometimes stray towards O-combat variants (all of them are cool, Z included) or NPP (when I feel V-munchkinish). I'm also a fan of the long forgotten Multiband (multi-class Angband, but it's got much more than that). I was also involved with TOME, but how long can you play a variant that is almost unmaintained and unbalanced by design (I hope it'll change now)? What was and is really cool about TOME were the DITL stories and the community.
Thanks a lot to all the developers and maintainers --- you do a great job and one day the world will recognize you and your creations (or not).Comment

Alright, Angband is looking up, again.
This is Elsairon. Lurking on and off on r.g.r.*
Glad to see V getting maintained again. I am more motivated to play when there are things happening. I guess my contribution (perhaps among others) was requesting 'last messages' in death file dumps which Prfnoff(sp?) wrote a patch for a while back iirc.
I play V mostly, with ToME on the side. Once in a while I play Zang or Sang, or some other variant just to see what people are doing with them. I play other roguelikes intermittantly, but band the most.
I hope to see *band breaking into the modern open source scene w/ GPL and on into the future. I guess my support would mostly be cheering from the sidelnes. I browse the source once in a while but not with complete understanding. My code expereince is mostly intermittant hobby programming. I might eventually learn enough c to hack together a patch or two but don't count on it. I could help out more successfully in other ways.Comment

Hi, I'm Daniel
I mostly play ToME and NPP, but try other variants from time to time. Strangely, I much prefer playing spellcaster types but my best character in both variants is a warrior . Looking at the ages on people's profiles also suggests that I'm probably one of the youngest *banders at 17 :P I've been playing about a year now, I think.Last edited by Daniel Fishman; April 22, 2007, 23:19.Comment

Hello,
I started playing Moria around '90 and have been hooked on roguelikes ever since. Wow, 17 years... man. This game should come with a warning label or something.
