You can always talk about maintaining and refactoring an ancient codebase. It is a well known issue, and fixing it is always worthy of respect.

Yeah, I was already thinking of aiming for "respected elder of the community", and that fits in nicely

You and others have done a good enough job that you chose to rewrite FAAngband on a different codebase. That is a big deal.

Giving the talk was fine - I wish I'd managed to leave more time for questions. I thought the quality of the other talks was amazingly good, and it's given me lots of food for thought.

Nick, it was very interesting speech. Especially

2. Games and their traditions influence each other

section where you've spoken about appearence of new pardigma.. from ultra conservative play -> to fast diving. This, quite philosophical topic, deserves more rethinking and analysis. Hope you will make another speech next year and talk about this particular topic more detailed.
