      Tolkien did go a bit overboard with Ancalong's description. Im happy just ignoring it as assuming it's just a really big dragon.

        Haven't finished watching it yet, but he got the timeline of Turin and Glaurung a bit wrong. Turin in fact killed Glaurung before finding out the truth about Nienor - that whole story is a magnificent piece of tragedy, IMO.

          Yes, that is a bit of a mishmash.
          IIRC, Turin wounded Glaurung deadly with gurthang, whereupon Glaurung told Turin that he had in fact married his sister. With Glaurung's death, the spell was lifted and Nienor committed suicide when she realised, that she had married her brother, who in turn also committed suicide after he learned about her death.
