Yes, I played Angband. And recently as a Human Rogue I died against a Mirkwood Spider trying to train and level up.

But just here to say hello. I was born in the very late 80s, and I love watching Cartoons, Anime, and also Little Ponies.

Just saying, humans are one of the most difficult races to play in this game. For a beginner, the usual recommendations are something like half-troll, dwarf, kobold. For rogues, hobbits are also ok, but they have worse melee. The high-elf is a bit of a noob trap, because they seem overpowered but have an extremely slow levelling pace.

Depending on class this may be somewhat offset by them having much better skill modifiers for many thing. (Though, I agree, they are extremely slow levelers eventually.)

Seriously though, you could get pretty far with just edit file stuff, if you didn't require every monster to be defeated with Friendship, that is.

There are already two - Ponyband (based on FA), and Anquestria (based on V), although I don't believe either is still maintained.
