    YASDs for Roguelike Radio

The devteam have received an email from Darren Grey of Roguelike Radio about submissions for their upcoming 100th episode. They've also posted this on reddit:

"Our 100th episode is coming up, and as something fun and special we're getting together a load of recordings of people's most memorable deaths. We want people to record themselves talking for a minute or so describing the most excruciating, painful or outright hilarious failures they've experienced when playing roguelikes.

Anyone can take part, though I'll be making a special effort to get submissions from most of the people we've had on the show in the past. All you need to take part is a mic and a good story. Further instructions on the submission link:

For episode 100 of Roguelike Radio we're compiling recordings of people's YASDs ("Yet Another Stupid Death") These are short tales of woe from encounters in roguelike games. Please make the recording yourself, host it somewhere accessible, and put your details and the link below. Instructions for recording: - Record in a quiet, non-echoey environment - Leave a gap of 5-10 seconds silence at the start and end of your recording - Record as mp3 or ogg - Start by stating your name and affiliation - Mention the game you're talking about, and give some context for people who haven't played - Try to keep your recording brief (though if you have an epic tale, do tell!) If sound quality is poor or the recording too long we may have to edit or discard it. Any questions send to darrenjohngrey at hotmail dot com. Deadline is Friday 15th May, but sooner is better.

Deadline is the 6th of April, but earlier is better."

Angband is not mentioned as often as some (IMHO) less worthy games in roguelike circles - it would be nice to swamp them with submissions

Just a reminder to players about this! And also a note that we've extended the deadline due to life and stuff. The submission form is still here:

As Nick says Angband (and it's many children) gets little mention in general roguelike circles. Often the most exciting and interesting stuff happens at the point of death - why not highlight your favourite game by retelling one of your tales of woe?

Good show. I loved how that Nethack submission actually recreated the sound effects.
