    The worst I saw recently translated as "Nyaa, Nyaa, you can't login to YIM locally and the instructions for sending a bug report have been deleted from our website!" Our very part-time housekeeper was affected as well. I had a slight panic over whether it was a negative interaction with the TADS3 Author's Kit.

    For a whole weekend. I suspect (from the timing) that it was a delayed side effect of deleting everyone's email attachments from Yahoo! webmail. The attachments were deleted April 1 2009; the login died the following Friday evening and did not revive until Monday.
    Zaiband: end the "I shouldn't have survived that" experience. V3.0.6 fork on Hg.
    Zaiband 3.0.10 ETA Mar. 7 2011 (Yes, schedule slipped. Latest testing indicates not enough assert() calls to allow release.)
    Z.C++: pre-alpha C/C++ compiler system (usable preprocessor). Also on Hg. Z.C++ 0.0.10 ETA December 31 2011

      The other day the Steam community site (yeah, so shoot me ) was down, and every time I tried to log in it gave me this error:

      Error verifying humanity.

      I would have thought it was the craziest thing ever, had I not previously seen that error when mistyping a captcha on that site...
      You read the scroll labeled NOBIMUS UPSCOTI...
      You are surrounded by a stasis field!
      The tengu tries to teleport, but fails!
