bug - wielding golden dagger message timing

I wielded a golden dagger, and I got this sequence of messages:

    You were wielding a Main Gauche (1d4) (+0, +0) [3, +0] (q).
    It glows!
    You are wielding a Golden Dagger (1d4) (+0, +0) <1> (a).

This sequence implies that my main gauche glows as I unwield it, as opposed to the golden dagger glowing as I wield it.

Sorry I don't have the build number - the "V" command doesn't seem to print that anymore! But I downloaded this version of v4 today, and it was built about a week ago...

Hmm. That's a fairly minor error, and the kind of thing that will be sorted out when we do the proper message packaging stuff (ticket #1502). I'm rather more intrigued to discover that the V command doesn't work for you! For me it says "You are playing v4-647-blahblah-dirty".

Oh, the name of the zip file had the version in it; it was g66b0fe2.

But yeah, the "V" command just says "You are playing 4.0-dev. Type '?' for more info."

edit: that's odd, the download page shows the version as 66b0fe2; it's missing the g at the front!

No, the g just means "git revision ID follows". So the download page just shows the revision ID, with no g.

I wonder if the autobuilders are not capturing the build version properly - thanks for reporting that.
