Painting house doors is already in the game. Try a potion at a door, it should change to the type corresponding to the color of the potion. WARNING: this also changes the type of house, so if you throw a green potion, the only things you will be able to store are items you usually find in the Temple. By default, every house is a "black market" type (you can store anything and sell for BM price). Throw a "yellow" potion to change to "Home", which is the less restrictive.

As far as houses go, the 2 house restriction is 1) to ensure players don't buy all the big houses and 2) to stay fair regard of no-wilderness when you just have your home in town. This will force players to "manage" their houses: buy a small one, then later on buy a bigger one, then later on buy a second big one.

Moreover, you have the "enlarge" house feature from MAng, so once you have no more space in your houses, you can go to the General Store and buy House Foundation Stones and a Scroll of House Creation to enlarge your house!

    Fun D

    Players are interested about houses:
    1) "is it possible to increase amount of houses per char (atm its 2?) to 5, for example"

Lets think about pros/cons of this... As we have 1 char/acc restriction it shouldn't be a problem.

Also I suppose it's also would be fun to restrict player to be able to have only 1 house per location (so wealthy player woundn't buy all Hobbiton houses for himself to live in luxury place).

    2) add possibility to paint house doors with potions to be able to distincs them

    3) there is a storage-house in Carn-Dum. Player reported that currently it's off use (?) Would be fun to make it possible to buy it for some quite big money (to make it endgame-like royal estate), so it would be yet another little 'goal' for player at certain stage of the game - to get money for this particular house. 500k? 1kk?

Nevermind, I fixed that. People starting without kit now start with an amount of gold equal to the value of that starting kit. Here you get your customized starting gold per class. Just start with "birth_start_kit = false" when creating a new character.
Thanks, but I wanna give new player fixed amount of gear (different for each class; defined at class.txt) and also a bit of gold. 'birth_start_kit = false' make you start with torch and food ration for each class, not customizable.

what's the useful purpose of this spell effect? -> PvP
Then this spell should remove light charges from other players torches only if this players are hostile, to protect newbies from harass.

    "3) gold"

    "Deep Nights"

also this spell works in town at night too.. --> hmm it shouldn't, if it's the case, I'll fix that
what's the useful purpose of this spell effect? -> PvP (rogue class in PWMangband is more PvP oriented and has many features of the old PernMangband like this one)

    "mouse support"

... is no way adapted to real-time brutal game like this. A misclick would kill your character easily.

Several days ago I've sent a email to MAngband and TomeNET devs considering their wesbite scripts and didn't get an answer. It seems them do not wish to share :E

I'll try to get into such scripting myself.. I'll try to find similar PHP scripts and reassign it for this job. Could be interesting task for coding rookie

Just a thought.. I wonder, is it possible to add mouse support to sdl, as it's in Angband? In Angband it give you possibility to move on click.. But I suppose the most interest could be 'look' support - so when you hover mouse on object - it show what is it.. Could be good tutorial-like gameplay for newbies.

It's just a topic for discussion, not rfe or something.

    spell: Deep Nights
    effect: DEEP_NIGHTS
    desc:Unlights the current dungeon level.

THis spell removing turns from other player's light. it's interesting mechanics, but it could be used to harrass newbie player. something should be done.. maybe this spell should only influence caster's light.

also this spell works in town at night too.. (newbies torches go down).

    p.s.
does darkness influence stealth? what's the useful purpose of this spell effect?

    1) Auto-dump How TomeNET devs deal with it?
    2) Starve option: great D
    3) gold:

Half of the time I start with this and I wouldn't clearly play on a server that forces me to punch drunks and merchants for hours until I get enough cash to buy a torch and a starting spellbook to actually play. And have to possiblity to buy a WoR. And couldn't even stairscum 50ft to get started. You get the idea...
Yes, as I wrote in the news at the website - it's temporary measure till there would be possbility to assign certain amount of gold directly to player:

Maybe you could help to assign more 'pure' gold for new chars? (V customization enhancements could appear in long time I afraid)

Right now starting gold constant depends on price of items with which player starts. It makes customization for different classes much harder.

Temporary solution could be to create special 'starting' items and make their value as 0.. But then this items would be 'for free' in Black Market. Is there a possibility to exclude item from sale somehow? If so - I'll make 'newbie' items and would return gold right now.

    p.s.
At the same time people who watched my stream (when I started without gold) was very happy to start without gold, with limited resources. So it's yet another point of view at this problem. Maybe some classes should start almost naked (like warrior), at the same time weak classes could have some extra stuff.
