    Pos/Com/Frog Dragon Form

I have always wondered, but never really tried, a Draconian Monk that goes full Dragon transform.
What, if anything does a Monk/Mystic/ForceTrainer gain or lose were they to become a Dragon?

you don't get to keep your unarmed combat skills if you become a dragon, basically just your casting ability.

So they lose the enhanced stun, retaliation, speed and all that? Pretty sucky exchange.

Thanks, will never need to try it then.

This isn't correct. Monks lose the martial arts flavored attacks but your claw attack does get a chance to stun, and you keep retaliation.

Yeah you get to keep some toys but they seem to have most of the problems metamorphed dragons usually have (losing damage in return for a harder slot layout). I'm of the opinion they were never balanced properly. The real dragons have a hard time of it, but there final form has a bunch of nice resists. Transformed dracs aren't going to grow into great wyrms, you've got the downsides with very few ups. Enough good rings, but by then a humanoid has a crazy good gear setup too.

Wobbly--yes. I played dragon way back when in Posband a few times. Most of the species were just awful: terrible damage, and painfully limited use of "branded" attacks; I was unable to win. The big deal for dragon races was PASS_WALL. With that, i was able to win. That is fun, but highly unbalanced.

wondering how a dragon would do with composband's reintroduced randart rings

                    Gwarl--
It was the damage that was a problem. Only 4 blows, and no slays, just a single brand. And base damage scaled for attacking the player, not attacking monsters with thousands of HP.

The randart rings, and improved reforges, both should help dragons a lot. I agree with wobbly, dragon monsters are quite playable, but metamorphosed dragon, even though I think the concept is fun, I've found them to be quite difficult.
