In my latest upload of Norseband (revised last night), I get a parsing error in line 653 of the p_info.txt file. (Entry #5 contains a problem line reading "C:a:g:Melkor Bauglir"; we haven't de-Tolkienized the god code yet, but don't know what else might be causing the problem. Any constructive ideas or advice you can offer would be very welcome, thanks...

In my (too extensive) experience with parse errors in edit files, there is usually a message giving extra detail - like "sequential error record", for example, which means you have entries out of order (this isn't one of those). That might tell you more about the problem - I can't see anything obvious from a quick glance at the edit file. One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne

The message I got said "Error 1 at line 653 of p_info.txt" and "Record 5 [a class description] contains a 'parse error' error." Based on my edit-file tweaking experience, I know that usually means I mistyped an item, or tried to add one that the game doesn't recognize...neither of which is true now. Does my quote help you narrow things down, though?Ingeborg S. Nordén

A little. That's the message for a bunch of things that could have gone wrong - missing colon, missing field, wrong number of arguments, etc. Line 653 doesn't seem to have anything wrong with it that I can see; I think the problem might be in the processing rather than the edit file itself. Sorry not to be of more use.Ingeborg S. Nordén

Update: The parsing errors in p_info.txt have been fixed now...partly by replacing an outdated file, partly by removing some skills (and specialist classes) that I considered unsuitable to the new setting. So far, the alpha version seems to work for now.Ingeborg S. Nordén
