    Minor npp bug?

    When I am near more that one trap and select the direction I wish to disarm, I disarm a trap in a different direction. Not really a game changer, but interesting.

    Also, after the new build of 5.4, accessing items from the floor is less buggy. However, if a lot of loot is on the floor throughout the dungeon, then the items on the floor still cause quite a few game crashes.

    On a young dragon level, I stopped squelching items to see what would happen when lots of items were on the level, and it became very hard to identify, look at, or get any item on the floor without the game crashing.

    Thank you for the report. I will work on these. Do you by chance have a savefile on a youngdragon level that I can work with? If so, can you please e-mail it to me? I haven't quite been able to recreate what you are describing.

    Does the game let you select which trap to disarm, or does it just go in the wrong direction after the pick? I thought I had fixed all of those bugs.

    EDIT: I believe I fixed the one about trap disarming & direction. That one was easy to find and fix.

      Thanks. I found two different bugs that could cause the game to crash. One when the numbers of objects on teh floor exceeds 256, and the other involving selecting an object off of the floor from the menu. That second one is a major bug that makes the game unplayable.

      I believe everything is fixed. I am going to text a little bit more, and then release an updated version.

        Please, in your testing, make sure to check the various means for choosing an object from inventory when taking an action - I think I was still finding the odd bug here a couple of days back

          It actually wan't the object choice menu. It was a last minute add-on I thought might be useful for new players, to have the object description display for the highlighted item. I added the description code, and tested it to make sure it displayed properly. And I checked it with inventory, equipment, quiver and floor items. I failed to notice it was grabbing the description for the items in the inventory when displaying the floor items. The crash occurred when showing floor items because there are 47 slots for the equipment/ inventory/ quiver items, and 1024 for the floor items. So when it tried to grab the description for floor items numbered greater than #47......crash. It didn't show up in my playtesting because most normal levels don't have 47 items on the floor at any given time. It was only showing up on themed levels with lots of objects on the floor or deeper levels with monsters that drop 18 items at a time.

            Whoops. well I thought I still was getting occasional inventory bugs but I might be remembering. ill send a bug report if I do find anything
