    Touche!

Still, how about the idea of having just three or four patrons who are all quite different from each other, instead of 16 almost identical ones?

Also, did not realize that a chaotic weapon gave you a patron...I always play a chaos warrior anyway and I don't use chaotic weapons hardly ever at any rate.

I like having a load of different potential Patrons, it just seems more Chaosy. Hell, I even think it would be cool to see randomly generated Patrons with unique names and random sets of level-up 'gift' weightings.

As it stands I think there's a fair bit of variety. For example, some Patrons are noticeably more likely to give you mutations - I'm playing a Half-Titan who has Slaanesh as a Patron and I've already got 7 mutations out of 14 level-ups. My previous Chaos Warrior had Khorne as a Patron, and got a ton of weapons as gifts. I remember Eequor being a moody goddess who gave out as many punishments as rewards. It is true that many are more in the middle ground though.

I really like this idea. Not just more true to the flavor, but it also obviates the demand for spoilers.

I would also like randomly generated patrons - but I got to say, I think they should never kill you. They can do some bad stuff - destroy your gear (which currently doesn't affect artifacts, but honestly I'd be OK if it did), cut off a bunch of your health and surround you with monsters, etc. but I don't think they should just straight up say "game over" and that's it. You should always have a chance, however slim, to escape.

There are probably plenty of other things you could come up with for them to do - some good, some bad, some neutral. For example, turning every monster on the level into a randomly selected monster type, or redrawing the map in the shape of something weird, or who knows what else.
