Poschengband noob

I just downloaded the most recent version. All I ever played was Angband for years. I read everything for about 45 minutes to maybe 70 minutes. I started a character, bought some equipment, made a bunch of bad buying decisions, and then noticed on the screen that I was encumbered. I then tried to find where my weight was, and couldn't find anything in the documentation. I then went out looking for the Stronghold, and after 20 minutes of walking/running, killed off my character.

i cannot find any noob guide or playthrough.

TLDR: just trying to figure out how to play, and the location of the stronghold. Really feel like the biggest newbie of the planet.

Looking at your 'i'nventory or 'e'quipment should list your current carrying capacity and total weight you're carrying at the bottom. Stronghold should be located very close to the starting town - there should be a downward staircase outside that leads to the dungeon.
