poison immunity not protecting equipment

Good day,
I have a question about what I think may be a bug. It looks like poison immunity doesn't provide equipment protection, unlike all other immunities.

I am currently playing as a druid. I never brought one so deep and things are going very well. I decided to transform into a pukel-man right before fighting a great swamp wyrm since I had a few scrolls destroyed last time I fought one while having double resistance. It looks though the immunity of the pukel-man doesn't prevent equipment being damaged. See the attached picture; I would have rather copy pasted the messages from the moment I transformed, but I'm not exactly sure where to find those messages.

Powerful breath attacks now do have various side effects. Poison here, does extra acid damage. So, your equipment is safe against this type of damage only if you have acid immunity. From that old thread, check Sideways's link for more additional powerful breath effects.
