Forgive me please if redundant, but I've searched and not found an explanation of how to read the "other" character info screen with resistances, etc. Any guide for that?

Except for the columns labeled '@', each column in that display shows how one of your equipment slots affects the different resistance, flags, and numeric modifiers. The labels at the top of each column are the same shorthand as in the equipment or inventory lists for indicating what piece of equipment is involved. The first column is for the weapon slot, the next for the launcher, and so on. The symbol at each column and row indicates what your character knows about the equipment:
- '.'. There's nothing equipped in that slot, or it's known that it has no effect.
- '?'. Your character is unsure whether the item has an effect on that attribute.
- '+'. The item adds a resistance to the element, adds a flag, or increases a numeric modifier.
- '-'. The item adds a vulnerability to an element or decreases a numeric modifier.
- '*'. The item adds an invulnerability to an element.
The '@' column shows the contributions that come from your character's race, class, or temporary effects due to items or spells. The temporary effects use '!' as the symbol.Comment

Excellent, thank you! I see some ''+" are bright white and others are gray. Is that meaningful? Also is there a way to gauge how much total resistance there is?Comment

The bright white versus gray is to help one track the columns and doesn't signify anything beyond that (you should see that, for a column which uses bright white for a '+', the adjacent columns are more darkly shaded). The color of the label for a row indicates the total. For a resistance, there are currently six possibilities:
- unknown: slate
- vulnerable: red
- normal (neither resistant nor vulnerable): white
- resistant: light blue
- doubly-resistant: light blue (look for '!' or '^' in the '@' column to distinguish this from the resistant case)
- immune: green

The color is just to make rows easier to follow..
Most resistances are on or off, and do around 50% damage reduction. The basic 5 reduce damage by 2/3, or 8/9 with double (temporary) resistance. Acid gets another 50% from non-zero armor in every slot: it is effectively the weakest element of the basic 5. Vulnerability reduces the resiatance level by 1.Comment

Eric any chance of making the resistance comparison page a bit easier to follow down those long columns? Maybe with slight color shading? Please like my indie game company on Facebook! https://www.facebook.com/RatherFunGamesComment

The master branch has a change to alternate shading for the columns in the knowledge menu's equipable comparison. That will, presumably, be included in the next nightly build (the current nightly from January 10th predates the change).Comment

Just a note for anybody for whom this isn't clear, the only way to get double resistance is to pair a permanent effect (from equipment or a racial bonus) with a temporary resist (from a spell, item activation, or consumable item).
ie having multiple pieces of equipment with the same resistance offers no additional protection after the first.Comment
