my /icons folder keeps disappearing

this is the second time that Angband doesnt launch with the error "can't find /angband/lib/icons" and, true enough, the folder's gone.
Easy enough fix, i copy it from the zip file i have of the game, but, why does it disappear?

I'm not aware of anything in the game that would cause that.

Maybe you have a Master Thief that you need to kill.
