That only increases hunger meter to 50% - if it's above 50 it stays unchanged (and it's now called Remove Hunger ).

Ah, ok then. I vaguely remember some discussion on it. Change the name to "Normalize Satiation", set the hunger meter always to 50% and you're done .

This is the suggestion that I like the most among the ones I have seen here. In addition, one could make Slow Digestion a bit more rare in artifacts, so that having it or not becomes a meaningful choice.

Sure, and thematically maybe !Life is much smaller than !CLW (though they weigh the same) or is made of non-nourishing fairy dust or whatever. But I think identical nourishment across the board is more "realistic" as well as more thematic and more importantly I just don't think it's worth the player attention's attention to have to Inspect potions for their Nutritional Facts Label, potion of Slime Juice aside.

Apparently, Nick feels we should all puke just before going into battle with Morgoth.

Well, we can do you blood and love without the rhetoric, and we can do you blood and rhetoric without the love, and we can do you all three concurrent or consecutive. But we can't give you love and rhetoric without the blood. Blood is compulsory. They're all blood, you see.”

In the absence of what might be called sensible discussion, I'm going with option 2:

The re-working of slow digestion I think would not address the problem all that well; also note that slow digestion was recently significantly reduced in effect.

I'm with wobbly on this one.

If you must have hunger and gorged status, maybe make Slow Digestion stop your food level ever changing, up or down. Call it Indigestion...

That sounds like a cool upgrade to Slow Digestion, at least mechanically. You're treated like you're always at 90% fed. The programmer would have to decide what happens when you put it on and take it off.

Thematically it seems a bit off, though. I don't recall any interesting stories with this as an element.

I think !Life should have the same effect as reading a scroll of remove hunger. If you're hungry, it will take you to 50%. If you have more than 50% it will have no effect. Healing and !*healing* could have the same idea, except only nourish if less than 50% fed.

why would monsters be aggro? how would they know it came from player?
why am I responding to this?

Well, some time ago, there was a discussion of having different monster types using different pathfinding methods to reach the player. If that were ever implemented, we could make it that taking a dump aggros scent-tracking monsters but does nothing for others. But overall, it is indeed a silly suggestion.
