    Fun 'custom' modes?

Does anyone makes small tweaks to the game data files to tweak gameplay?

I've been on an 'ironman rapid dive' kick lately where I always take the first down staircase I encounter. I've altered starting gold to 60k so my dude can go on a shopping spree before leaving town, never to return.

Anyone have any small/interesting changes that don't radically alter gameplay?

An example of one which was done by Fizzix a couple versions ago: Changing "# Number of levels for each stair
world:stair-skip:1" From "1" to "2". Then, playing ironman forced descent, no recall, you only have 50 levels to get what you need to win.

Well, we can do you blood and love without the rhetoric, and we can do you blood and rhetoric without the love, and we can do you all three concurrent or consecutive. But we can't give you love and rhetoric without the blood. Blood is compulsory. They're all blood, you see.”

Good suggestion. I make it a bit easier by knowing all runes and flavors at birth. I've found having to rely on a store bought elemental weapon is no good once you start encountering uniques with basic resistances. Nar whipped my priest despite a maul of flame.

I've played around with level skip quite a bit. I did one game with 24 level skip. That was actually pretty fun as a Half-Troll Warrior. I made up a system for adjusting the gold for each level skip. I add 125 gold for each added level skip. So if playing with 2 level skip starting gold would be 725. 24 level skip starting gold would be 3475.

In this video I hadn't yet made up that system of starting gold and started with 15,000 gold which was way too high:
