    Saving sets of squelched items.

I really, really, really hate having to go through the squelch menus every run and set them to the same values. 95% of the flavors get squelched, and it's always the same ones. It is necessary to allow the player to define lists of squelch settings--for example, one for the start of the game, when you want a lot of things, mid-game, when most things are squelched, and end-game, where almost everything is squelched. This is a necessity and must make it into the next release.

Even better would be to allow the player to set a number for squelching each flavor. For example, if I have 5 ?WoR in inventory, then I don't want to see any more ?WoR. If I have less than 5 ?WoR, then I want to see them if they're there.

But for Nerull's sake, don't make me go through those menus again!

To mark something as uninteresting. You can set an option so that squelched objects are invisible. So if you don't want to see another wand of scare monster for the rest of the game, get rid of it [I think in 309] with 'K' rather than 'k'.

There are also yucky menus you can reach via '=' 's', particularly important if you decide to undo. E.g. I squelch restore potions, and then if a stat gets drained I unsquelch the appropriate potion until I fix the problem.

              You can do this.

They are saved in the prefs file.
So when you have a set of squelch settings you are happy with,
              do: =, dump options, squelch.prf

Then edit squelch.prf to only include the squelch section at the bottom.
Then whenever you want you can import that set of squelch settings
by doing =, 'load a user pref file'
