    Artifact generation

    Hi, friends!
    Few days ago I've killed Sauron.
    Presumptuously, I decided that I able to kill Morgoth as well.
    But...This guy is not simple as I thought.

    Then I decided to run on floors 90-99. It seems to me that the higher the level of the dungeon, the greater the chance of generating high-level artifacts for the end-game.

    But..nothing more valuable than !Life and !*Healing* after probably 10 vaults.

    How many artifacts have you found already? There are a finite number of them.

    Other than that... random numbers, just random numbers.

        Hello, when giving information about your character, it's better to post a character dump or a link to the character on the ladder.
        What i definitely see from the screenshot is that you could replace the RoS +11 with anything (base 20 + temporary haste is enough against Morgoth) and having some STR/DEX/CON bonus would not hurt (that one missing CON would give you noticeable extra HP). Best would be to find a ring of power but finding items does not work that way
        You also need to worry about sustains (I guess you plan to melee in the final fight). I'm not sure if you have each combat stat sustained.

            Rings of power are nice, but not necessary. You have no really high end weapons, alas, although the Holy Avenger scythe is certainly better than Aiglos against Morgoth. But a Palafin should be doing 450+ vs evil.

            Avavir and Elvagil are junk at this point.

              If you're going to hunt artifacts for longer, then Power Dragon Scale Mail and Necklace of the Dwarves is probably a better armor/amulet combo than Isildur/Trickery. Keep Trickery ofc for situations you need SustDex. This is certainly not a necessary switch, but it would fill your resistance holes, give higher constitution, strength and grant regeneration. You have way enough speed already, minor dex-hit (from 18/*** to 18/180) shouldn't lower your number of blows and moderate stealth bonus you don't need.

              Also for inventory management, all of the four bigger spellbooks cannot be destroyed or stolen with high DEX. Only need to carry one copy of each. Even those destructible spellbooks you're carrying too many. 2-3 should be safe. Furthermore, 17 Satisfy Hunger scrolls is totally unnecessary. One is enough with SlowDigestion intrinsic (I don't remember, if paladin had a Satisfy Hunger spell, in which case you need zero scrolls). These adjustments alone should nullify encumbrance speed penalty.

                    Without fire and cold immunities, it just wrecks your gear, so it isn't worth killing. But a high level Paladin with double fire/cold resist should be able to kill pretty much any monster in the game, assuming an endgame weapon (which you don't really have.)

                        People disagree about the exact definition, but pretty much it just comes down to damage. You want to be doing as much damage per turn as possible. The faster you deal damage, the shorter the fight takes, the fewer chances there are for disaster to strike. I would personally say that 400/round vs. Morgoth is about my minimum threshold, but it's definitely possible to do more, and it's also entirely possible to win with less.

                          Take a look at the ladder:

                          This lists Angband Paladin winners. Ignoring the silly randart games with 800+ dam/turn, winners are generally doing 400-600 damage vs evil, with 500-550 being common. Note a lot of MoD and SoS +2 attacks and Holy Avenger winners, all doing 500+ damage/turn. Players generally use a lot of off-weapon damage, too. Immunities and resistances just don't matter much when you have near-unlimited healing.
