Since I'm dropping them anyway, I drank a potion of berserk strength to see how much it increased damage - only from 336 to 341.

Berserk strength improves your to-hit (effectively increasing your damage, but it's an invisible improvement); and it also heals you a bit.

If you happen to be in town, you can sell the unidentified iron shots for the runes.

I stopped using potions of brawn after the first one decreased DEX, but am reconsidering since it decreases a random stat. Maybe I should use more.

You can drop all of these because you are using a bow.
That will free up an inventory slot.
Also, why do you have a cursed amulet in your home? You can also get rid of the bow and the sling in your home.

I kept the shots because I have a sling as a backup range weapon. If I thought I wouldn't need a backup I could get rid of all that.

I'll have to look at what amulet it is. I was saving one with teleport, but thought I got rid of it.

Don't use potions of brawn; more STR at the cost of other stats is the last thing your character needs, and your base STR is nearly maxed out anyway.

The damage reported doesn't reflect the improved to-hit? What about runes?

I was just browsing the history for info on the disenchantments, and saw a 9 headed hydra had destroyed staves of detect evil and teleport. Ugh.

OK found the history.

Boots of speed: 2 disenchants
Cloak of protection: 1 disenchant
Leather Shield of Celegorm: 1 resist
Chain mail of Arvedui: 2 disenchants, 2 resists
Short sword of Dagmor: 1 resist
Cap of seeing: 1 disenchant
Gauntlets of free action: 1 disenchant

Learned a lesson not to melee those.

OK I'll do that. I was mainly concerned about running out of arrows and keeping the ammo 'just in case' I get a better sling.

Just looked, it almost doubles damage 99 to 192.

There are some with slightly harmful effects, notably mushrooms of debility.
The safest way is to sell them to the shop.

Good point - I just don't have room in env to do that so it's eat or leave.

There's a rod of teleport other for sale - but I suspect the wand I have is better so I can do multiple casts instead of waiting on a recharge?
