Hi all,
I recently started playing Angband again after a long hiatus, about 6 years or so. I used to read and post to the Angband newsgroup on a regular basis, and I'd like to get involved in the community again. I think the last version of Vanilla that i Played was 2.8.*, and now I'm trying out the latest version, 3.09b. I'm very interested to see some of the new features such as auto squelch, which I've always wanted to see in Vanilla
But enough about me, I'm having a problem with the new version and I'd really appreciate some help with it. The way I used to play Angband was in fullscreen mode. I'm using Windows, but I always used to run the MSDOS versions and play them using the -mibm parameter to get the characters as large as possible. I'm not particularly interested in window flags - I just hit 'i', '^P', etc as I need to see things.
I can't really see a way to make fullscreen happen with the windows graphical version of 3.09b. I can increase the tile height and depth, but after a while the display looks funny - large spaces between the tiles. The console version of 3.09b is godawful - no offense to whomever compiled it - it runs slowly, escape key doesn't work, and shift+direction doesn't let the player run, even with the -mibm parameter. Does anyone have any other suggestions for me? I know that Angband is one of the most user-customizable games out there, and I imagine there's just something I'm missing or that I forgot how to do.
To those of you that read up to here, thanks, and any input would be greatly appreciated.
