Removing items from your quiver

How is it done? It mentions 'l' to select it but nothing seems to happen.

'|' selects the quiver. Your gear is automatically sorted so that missiles go in the quiver until it is full, and everything else goes in the inventory. If you want to drop something from your quiver, it's just like dropping from inventory.

you press d to drop, then use the arrow keys to move sideways until you see the quiver. or you press d to drop, then press shift + \ (the equivalent to |) and then d to drop.
or walk into the weapon shoppe and use the arrow keys to find your quiver.

Thanks. I kept pressing 'l' like it says in the manual but nothing was happening. I have since found that you can also select it pressing CTRL and \.

You mean "SHIFT + \"?

That's the downside of the "pipe" character versus a lower-case letter "L"... "|" looks a lot like "l".

Whoops yes, that's what I meant. The differences in characters is very hard to see.
