Is anyone in favor of this? It's kind of annoying going from shop to shop when something blocks you and then you clear the more prompts and you die. I agree with PowerDiver that townspeople should grant experience. I mean they can kill you for crying out loud. How is that not an experience? It doesn't make sense that they don't grant experience.

I think townspeople being legitimate threats is important in that it teaches you that you're never safe. It's an experience for the player!
I wouldn't be opposed to veterans, mercenaries, and rogues being worth experience. The others are unable to deal damage though. -
It rather emphasizes the notion that some relatively dangerous monsters are just not worth killing. And Since all townspeople move somewhat at random, it's possible to evade them long enough to duck in a store. At worst, you can dodge downstairs for a turn.

i would rather instead they moved randomly and *did not disturb*, serving solely as decoration and maybe the occasional missed move due to a drunk walking into your path; but there's no benefit for me having the wait command not work fully because some useless 0 xp mob can see me recall."i can take this dracolich"Comment

These aren't really problematic things. It's just when you play the game so much it can get tiresome worrying about townspeople when you just want to get the things you need and start on your journey.Beginner's Guide to Angband 4.2.3 Part 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m9c9e2wMngM
