SHIFT direction not advancing

I am playing on my desktop now (PC) and when I hold down SHIFT and move in a direction it doesn't rush me along the hallway like it does on my Mac. Any ideas?

If you are using the keypad, try toggling numlock.

Thanks! I was just about to post here to say that it randomly decided to start working. And I see that Numlock is now off (must have accidentally hit it when reaching for '7').

I had this problem for awhile. I was going to thank everyone for the fix, but the fix messes up other things. With Numlock off the keypad doesn't work for everything else I use it for. So I am stuck using "." for run mode.

It doesn't make sense to me why Numlock would affect shift key operation either. I was trying to find a way to assign the shift key to the run function in the keymap....but it wasn't very obvious how to do this when I looked at it.
