I almost skipped a 1-4 level feeling level because it was one of those annoying roomless dungeons connected by a bunch of areas curvy shaped areas. Glad I didn't; long bow of power with great stats +7, +17. Can't remember the last time I got a long bow of power that high. Love it. Also found a fat stack of potions of speed.

EDIT: Why were rings of acid nerfed? Or is it just because I'm playing warrior? The effect lasts soooo short. I do appreciate the effect of infravision now lasting a long time, but rAcid ring is basically useless. The rings were barely usable when the resistance lasted a reasonable amount of time; now they are just really bad.

Those rings are not intended for warriors except as a stopgap. They are valuable to low-level priests and the like for some easy initial damage.

LF 6:9 with a jolly roger vault in detection range...oooh! Playing no-recall dwarf priest, as a change of pace. Hit level 34 and see the vault. Level feeling kicks in and I know it's almost certainly either a speed ring or deep dungeon book. Clean up the outside, find "Wis(+3). Nice step up from +1. Then in first eye socket: Godly Insights. Sweet! Any loss is no longer just bad luck. Eye #2: RoSpeed(+8). Yes!
However. Just one copy of PB4 doesn't seem to much to ask. Heal spell sure would help

Your best chance for the basic books will be from drops. Kill those priests, paladins, etc., and hope they drop the book you need.

Well, we can do you blood and love without the rhetoric, and we can do you blood and rhetoric without the love, and we can do you all three concurrent or consecutive. But we can't give you love and rhetoric without the blood. Blood is compulsory. They're all blood, you see.”

I guess people are bored with my level feeling reports, but I find them interesting.

DL30. Level 1 feeling. RoD [+13], +4 more than the other rings of damage I found up to that point. But I guess RoD is common by now, hence the "cobwebs" feeling.

Actually the level feelings can be weird also for monsters. I recently got a level feeling of 3 at dlvl 24 and the level contained:
              - Shagrat, the Orc Captain (dlvl 19)
              - Bolg, son of Azog (dlvl 20)
              - Sangayando of Umbar (dlvl 24)
              - Angamaitë of Umbar (dlvl 24)

I know none of them was OOD but that still felt like a really low level feeling given these 4 uniques.

Last night I got Mordecain's Escapes on a 8 or 9 feeling at 1300 feet. Playing gnome mage, so this was a nice find (still need Resistances though). It wasn't even in the main special room on the level, although there I got a rapier of *Slay* something that had +2 strength and regen, also pretty helpful right now.

I almost got killed by a blue mold on DL18 I believe in a mold pit. It was native to DL27. Level feeling was also 3.
