Normally, the s key searches. In my game it doesnt. I am not sure, I may have removed a keymap by mistake, or maybe the current nightly has changed something, but how can I get my s key to search again ?
How to search ?

If you're playing the traps feature branch, then there's no searching any more.
Otherwise, if you hit \, then you'll be prompted for another key to input, which will bypass any keymaps and do the "underlying command" associated with the key. So \s will always search. Tangentially related, I like to map F to a "cast Light Area" keymap, and I can still refill my lantern using \F. -
I guess you are playing the latest nightly version, which has the new traps in it.
Searching has been removed because traps and secret doors are now noticed immediately on stepping next to them. This will take some getting used toOne for the Dark Lord on his dark throne

I used 's' more often as "short wait with interrupt" (i.e., wait for monster to come around corner) than to search. I have no problem with searching being removed, but I'd like to see a (maybe time configurable) "wait with interrupt" added in its place.Comment

Or you can just hit 5 a couple of times, though that of course doesn't have the interrupt behavior.Comment

I mapped the [Tab] key to R5[Enter] long ago. It is my go-to rest or wait key.“We're more of the love, blood, and rhetoric school. Well, we can do you blood and love without the rhetoric, and we can do you blood and rhetoric without the love, and we can do you all three concurrent or consecutive. But we can't give you love and rhetoric without the blood. Blood is compulsory. They're all blood, you see.”
