Greater vault more common in deeper dungeon

Are greater vaults more probable in deeper dungeon levels?

Deeper dungeon levels hold better objects, often in vaults. After playing V 4.0.4 for two months, I notice far more vaults in deeper dungeons. Moreover, on transitioning from mid to late game, DL80 often brings greater vault. Are greater vaults guaranteed between at certain dungeon levels?

In my most recent hT-warrior encountered a greater vault holding super valuables, at least dozen artifacts. This greater vault is almost entirely permanent walls but has separate 4x4 chambers connected by one single granite block. Each chamber holds an additional single cell blocked by a single granite block.

Are there overall descriptions of the most common vaults in V 4.0.4 and new vaults added to V 4.0.5?

Vaults are definitely more common as you get deeper into the game. There's no guarantee of vaults appearing, though; it's all up to the dungeon generation algorithm.

You can look at the vault descriptions in the game data files (lib/gamedata/vault.txt). They're reasonably simple. So far as I'm aware, 4.0.5 does not have any new vaults compared to 4.0.4.

In fact, 4.0.5 does not have any new vaults compares to 3.5 - that appear in the game. If you look at vault.txt, you will see it has seven vault types:

1. Lesser vault
2. Medium vault
3. Greater vault
4. Interesting room
5. Lesser vault (new)
6. Medium vault (new)
7. Greater vault (new)

The first three types appear in 4.0; the others are intended for use (possibly modified) in 4.1 onward.
