    Auto ignore and spellbooks

Is it possible to ignore spellbooks if I already have three of the same one and then unignore them when one gets burnt? It's getting annoying having to drop them all the time.

Yes. Just inscribe the ones you're carrying with !k, then ignore, and future ones will be ignored. If your current ones all get burnt, 'K' turns ignoring off, so you can acquire new ones, inscribe and repeat.

I was worried that might be the case. I assume I can just buy more without having to turn auto ignore off? It's only the first four, so the cost of buying an extra now and again is worth not turning auto-ignore on and off in the off chance one dropped on the floor

Yes, they go straight into inventory, get inscribed, and therefore don't get dropped.

Although, in the current runeid and trap/door branches, auto-inscription is a little herky-jerky. It used to be that what you bought, or picked up from the floor, or an unknown flavored item in the pack that you identified, would be immediately inscribed if you had an auto-inscription established for that type item. However, a bug was introduced wherein the inscription does not occur until some other action occurs. Much like if you ignore an item in a store or on its doorstep, the item will not be dropped from the @'s pack until some other action occurs. The auto-inscription bug has been reported.

You can do it in the item squelch menu with 'never pick up'

Yes, but I think what is being asked is what to do when or if the books burn up. Then, player can buy replacements from the store, or find replacements in the dungeon. To find dungeon replacements, player needs to go into the auto-ignore menu and turn the ignore for the particular book back off. If instead, the player chooses to buy a replacement book, then there should be no need to turn the auto-ignore off if player has !k as an autoinscription for the book type. When player buys the book, it should automatically be inscribed with the !k and therefore not dropped as "ignored" after leaving the store. At least, that is how it was working. The runeid branch and trap/door branches introduced an error into the attachment of autoinscriptions, so they now require some other event to occur prior to inscription happening automatically.

= opens the options. "i" opens the ignore menu.
