I present a thesis, I engage the antithesis. When the antithesis is crap, e.g. in this thread, I sometimes find it hard to contain my disappointment, it's true.

Anyway, I feel I've adequately presented my perspective on various aspects of angband's design (or evolution) and some of the pushback has been interesting. That's enough for me.

Actually, you don't. Instead you engage in the logical fallacy of ad hominem attacks as a means to attempt to invalidate arguments.

1. Entering the conversation with a joke-post that doesn't address the original question
2. When no one responds to that, immediately jumping into the main conversation with strong opinions and a confrontational manner
3. When called out for being a jerk, immediately switching to "taking the high road" and just being generally superior to everyone- so superior in fact that "no one understood the points I was making"
4. When no one falls for that, cutting out of the conversation with a pretentious remark about it being interesting to experience ignorant backlash

...these would be typical troll behavior.
