      Aren't they insectoid creatures? They could be merged with the other insects, give 'I' a member deeper in the dungeon.

          Xaren/Xorn are not insectoids. Fantasy creatures from other planes of existence. Umber Hulk is insectoid.

          Not sure if those should exist in angband at all now that I have read their description. Maybe remove them rather than make more of them and move umber hulk to insects (Killer Beetles maybe? "K"?).

            Or change their fluff to suit Angband - they could be the "nameless things" that tunnel and gnaw under the earth Gandalf encountered / observed during his fight with the Balrog.

            Though I kind of suspect they were included mainly to have a monster for the X glyph.
