    Viewing/resolution

I first played angband on a mac running 800x600, and instantly loved how well it took advantage of spacing. It felt very comfortable, even though it required much learning to interact with.

When playing angband on my pc, the game does not 'use up all the space', and it becomes very hard to see many of the fine details. I have not been able to enjoy playing under those conditions for long, so I only end up playing when my pc has down time.

I tried switching to 800x600, but it ended up cutting off too much of the screen, to be able to play well.

    Any ideas? thanks!

The Windows version of the game lets you increase the font size (which in turn increases the window size, if I'm not mistaken - been a while since I played vanilla Angband) from the menus...
You read the scroll labeled NOBIMUS UPSCOTI...
You are surrounded by a stasis field!
The tengu tries to teleport, but fails!

I agree - increasing the font size is the best way to accomplish this. If this makes the window too big for the desktop, try the following:

Double-click the title bar until the window is resized by Windows to fit the desktop. Make sure you can still see the whole screen. If you can't, get the next smaller font, then resize again. This only creates one problem. Each time you restart the game the window will need to be resized again by double-clicking the title bar - if you're loading a game, load before resizing the window or you'll get an error message and you'll have to restart the game. I'm sure there's a way around that but I've only had the game for a few days so I haven't figured it out yet.

I have tried that a few times over the years, but it is not really any more helpful, because it is still stretching in a 'wrong' way.

3.0.9 that I have does not show a dropdown font change option
