    Angband 3.5.0 Windows and Mac

When playing Angband 3.5.0 of an evening on my wife's laptop running Window7 I can have all of the Term windows open giving me the game information, but not on the Mac, also running Angband 3.5.0.

Is this by design or have I, on the Mac, not set it up correctly. Using the Option Menu, Sub-window setup I can see the Display messages in Term1 and 2, but can't get them to show. Unless in mid-game I click on Window, Term 1 or 2 etc which alters the speed of the game. Also I seem to be playing without essential info.

Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

    Many thanks,
    Peter

You need to enable the windows themselves from one of the menus (in the menubar at the top of the screen). Sorry, I forget what that menu is called offhand.

Isn't it something like "term options"?
(I too don't have a real computer to hand)

        Angband 3.5.0 Windows and Mac

I must be doing something very wrong.
I've accessed the Options Menu, Selected Sub-windows and attempted to select the windows Term1 and Term 2 for display on the game screen.
        But still nothing shows.
How do I get the in-game display of what has taken place in the game to show.

As I said in an earlier thread under Windows 7 there's not a problem with this. But with the Mac I'm stumped.

No, no, you need to go to the menubar at the top of the screen (with the Apple menu, Angband menu, etc.) and select windows to be displayed:

I appreciate that, but how do I keep the commentary or term 2 window on screen whilst I play.
Every time I go back to the game screen the term window disappears.

It would be useful to be able to read the commentary on the game as I play on.

That's weird. What version of OSX are you using? You're not full-screening the main window, are you?

                I'm using OS X 10.9.2 recently updated.

How do I check the settings for the main window settings. I can't find them within the game.

By "full-screening" Nick just means that the main window is covering your entire monitor. The secondary windows shouldn't overlap the main window, since that will just send them behind it as soon as it gets focus. So just make certain that they're off to the side.

You can use Cmd-` (Not ', but `, the key in the upper-left corner of most keyboards) to cycle through windows in the current app. If your secondary windows are hidden behind the main window, then this will bring them back up to the top.

I can access the secondary windows but only up to the moment I start to play. At that point they disappear. I can summon them as you say, using cmd `.

I do notice an error message that appears when I do summon the secondary windows, and that says:

"Cannot set main window flags <3>"

Would that message have any significance?

If you can "summon" them using Cmd+`, then they're being shown just fine, but you're covering them over with another window. Move them to the side so they aren't on top of the main window and you should be fine.
