If you go into the options by pressing the equals key, , then select 'set base delay', you can make that happen. I choose the value 20 because I think it gives a good compromise with speed.
They are probably happening too fast. Hit '=' for options and 'd' for base delay factor, and then play with the numbers until the animation goes at a speed that suits you.
