It appears in fact that it will be a "dev team" rather than a team led by a single maintainer. And that's probably a good thing.

It's not, except in cases where single maintainer is a bad one. Zangband went bad quickly after it was taken over by a team instead of single person. I just hope same doesn't happen to vanilla (though the signs of that have been around for some time now...).

Thanks for all the time and effort you've spent making it possible for the community to be involved. The Angband open source effort was especially important and should be seen as a model for how to get any legacy application licenses up to date. You will be missed.
