"Deletion" could be interpreted as teleport level because you don't get any XP from them. Monsters can do that to you, so you should be able to do that to monsters. Problem with it is more that you do it in mass every time, there is no teleport level only one monster. Wording is a difficult one since there is already teleport level which teleports player, not monsters.

Teleport race from level and teleport area from level? Maybe also teleport monster from level as single-monster equal of that one (like teleport other, but removes from level and requires more mana).

That would create another conflict with priest spells, there is Annihilation which is bolt-spell that affects living (weak spell for its cost, needs to be redone).

That's a real shame as it seems very appropriate.

Rename Annihilation to Eradicate and make it more powerful (e.g. flat 300 damage/cast against any target, instead of the current "only living targets" restriction). Then you can use Annihilate for genocide effects.

            Some choices:

            Extinction
            Elimination
            Exclusion
            Explusion
            Extermination
            Abolishment
            Eradication

That's just a quick check with a thesaurus. Of those, I think I like "extermination" the most.

I like that. That spell is pretty useless anyway, so it needs rework and changing name is not a bad thing when you change what it does as well.

                Exterminate! Exterminate!

Too bad we don't have Daleks as race...

I like Expulsion, or Expel, depending on the part of speech one prefers. It's quite accurate. Or if we want to be colloquial, we can go with the baseball umpire's call...You're Out of Here! is the spell, and leave the scroll as the Scroll of Expulsion.

Other colluquials...if baseball references are perhaps too American...

                  Bring Me A Shrubbery!
Red Card (soccer ejection...might be best for single target or beam version, if we want one of those)
GO AWAY! (in all caps, with punctuation )

                  Another variation:
Tsunami (for LOS only Mass Banish)

Another term might just be Bane, for Banish, and use Expel for Mass Banish.

One thing though banishment is very useful against pesky fleas and critters of that sort, mass teleport would be good if it removed them from the level. Mages and priest really don't need the scrolls, but it would be valuable to warriors though.

I have always seen Mass Banishment as Mass Level Teleport Other.
So the banished monsters just end up on another dungeon level.
After all, all other explanations imply you getting XP for the banished monsters.

Maybe an intermediate option would be level teleport other. ( Teleports a monster / ray to another level).
                      Or Mass teleport other.

In that case, may I suggest the name "Bug Off!" ?
You read the scroll labeled NOBIMUS UPSCOTI...
You are surrounded by a stasis field!
The tengu tries to teleport, but fails!

                          Excommunicate?

                          Just an idea... :P

(Not really appropriate alas, since it's mages that get Banishment, not priests.)

That would have to be an artifact of course- can of ( bug off).

Just found this thread. I like this suggestion pretty well. Maybe Annihilation instead of Annihilate?
