Do post count levels closely follow Angband class titles?
Being a Knight at 500' makes you look like a slow diver then.
Do we have to fight Morgoth when we reach 5000 posts/feet?A(3.2.0) C "Angdiira II" DP L:36 DL:44(2200') A+ R+ Sp w:Whip of Westernesse(+10,+10)(+2)

Adept (priest 3)
Swordsman (warrior 3)
Knight (paladin 6)
Veteran (warrior 5)

Hehe, that's a great idea.
I don't see any rogue title yet but they don't sound that good, so that won't be my bet for the final rankA(3.2.0) C "Angdiira II" DP L:36 DL:44(2200') A+ R+ Sp w:Whip of Westernesse(+10,+10)(+2)

Q: So how is everybody?
A: Dead, but thanks for asking. Not entirely convinced by some of the changes to the 'text' (to much random mumbling going on) but I'm loving the new level feelings. At CL40 I got my first 'superb' accompanied by a premonition of death. It wasn't kidding. Disposed of the Witchking, two minor ringwraiths and the Emperor Q, but ran out of mana teleporting between Rooms Full of Ever More Deadly Creatures.Last edited by scud; June 9, 2011, 20:50.Comment

The mumbling is mainly an issue with, for example, Nexus Qs - can they even speak? There are a number of monsters that have mumbling, cursing, etc. attributed to them that are not actually casting verbal spells the way a humanoid would. Also, surely after some time a player character (especially a mage) would start recognizing these spells for what they are even without sight; same goes for something like nexus breath from hounds, which is identified as "something strange" even after a character has experienced nexus many times.
3.2.0 probably gave overly complete information concerning monster actions, but the nightlies sometimes obscure information that probably should be known.Comment

1. The appropriateness of messages is an artifact of the current (temporary) message implementation. In this thread the requirement for message text specific to each spell is described. At the moment all spells cast by unseen monsters are "mumbles", when things like arrows shouldn't be. This will get fixed, when someone writes the message text.
2. The game currently tracks what @ knows about each monster's spell capability, but this is only used in the monster recall code. It could be used in the code which describes the spell message - this is quite an interesting idea. The task above would then extend to require different messages for when the spell is known/unknown."Been away so long I hardly knew the place, gee it's good to be back home" - The BeatlesComment
