Squelch Amulet of Amulet? Ring of Ring?

In the squelch menu, under "Amulets" there is a type listed as
"Amulet". Under "Rings" there is a type listed as "Ring." I think
that if I'd ever come across an Amulet of Amulet or a Ring of Ring,
I'd remember it. So what are those?

They're probably placeholders for special artifacts - and shouldn't be appearing in the squelch menus.

They have been in there a long time. I have not seen any discussion about getting rid of them that I can remember.
If beauty is in the eye of the beholder, then why are beholders so freaking ugly?

I agree that they should disappear, and I have a partial fix. Do you want to be able to squelch special artifacts after they've been found, or even if an ancestor of this character has seen them? Unfortunately, my fix removes them from the squelch menu altogether, but I should be able to modify it appropriately.

          Squelch...artifacts? I don't understand.

          Does anyone squelch artifacts currently?

The flavours need to be in the squelch menu before they are IDd, otherwise their artifact-ness is obvious from across the dungeon. IMO they should then disappear from the squelch menu after ID, on the grounds that squelch should not touch artifacts, but there's no compelling reason for that. If people consider artifacts junk, why shouldn't they be allowed to hide them from view?

I see no reason to squelch artifacts, but I figured I'd check to see whether I was overlooking anything.
