hi i am playing 320, i just noticed it doesnt show the e in smeagol in the messages but it does on monster list and message subwindow, with the thing on the e aswell ..

i am using the old font file from 3.12 cos it looks better to me, is that the problem?

on windows??

edit~ just if is not clear: this wat happen in top screen messages when thing happen, it is like : You hit Sm agol Sm agol touches you.

Yes, that will be the problem. The old fonts don't deal with extended characters, which is why the new ones were brought in.

ok thanks for telling me, eek maybe there could be a extended version of the old 8x13 it look much better i think! hoo!

There is actually an extended version of the 8x13 here; but in my experience Windows will use its own font in preference. You could try it, though.

hi sorry to double post, eek~ i downloaded that font you recommended~ its not the same as the 3.12 default font .. but thanks alot anyway~! it looks just like the one that came with 320.. or maybe somethin intense is happening to me, hoo!!~!

i think ill use it is probably better than not seeing e or watever but the other one was looking alot better to me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!~!

I'm curious if anyone has any idea how to get around a problem I have with overlapping fonts:

This started happening to me three years ago, and persists on windows 7.
My workaround since then has been to continue using the old fonts.
This unfortunately means I have the OP's problem of missing letters.

I can live with it, but i thought it's worth bringing up.
It's also worth noting that if I try to resize the overlapped font window, i get a divide by zero crash. perhaps I'll start by debugging that.
