    Can't direct spells

I've just grabbed the nightly build angband-rf5180ff76a and started a new game. Whenever I cast a magic missile I don't get a prompt to direct the spell, but my mana still gets used up. It makes playing a mage quite tricky. Any ideas?

Should be fixed when a1349ba is up. Sorry for the inconvenience.

To me that same causes crash in r4dd01f9632. I hope that a1349ba is newer than that.

I can confirm the same issue was happening for orb of draining for a priest prior to this latest build.

With build a1349ba: I can't use prayers in a normal way at all, using either p or m. Both of those keys trigger detect evil. Browsing any of the books is strangely slow to come up. And 'h', which was fire ammo 0 at the nearest target, now causes the game to crash.

Targeting as a whole seems broken here; once I have fired (using f0* and choosing a target), hitting n to repeat asks for a target again.

This may be the first time I have tried a completely unplayable nightly... I like a number of the changes (spell browsing is cool), so hopefully this will settle down soon.

That one doesn't even allow to start game with new char, it immediately crashes. Loading old savegame allowed me to test the setup.

Setting base delay doesn't show what you set it to. Older versions that worked just fine.

Too many messages in stores still there. If you wield something it shows you equipment screen after inventory screen which is not the wanted behavior. Now it doesn't bail you out of the store with it by esc, but if you look at your equipment/inventory and press esc to get out of that bails out of the store (easy to debug in home). It also doesn't update extra term windows with correct info.

Windows font-win.prf is still disabled in font.prf

First time I see nightly build having warnings. Will stick to rafbda2b44b just in case.

ok, c58056f3772 actually fixes this. it's been a long night.

also fixed, at least to remove the most annoying bits.

This was a fix for Vista... you're going to have to uncomment it every time until NPP extended chars make it in, I think.

This is actually quite old now. It seems that this behavior was there at 3.1.x, but not at 3.0.9.

Great! It was very annoying until I found out that I can press space instead of esc to get out of those extra screens.

                Make it an option?

http://rephial.org/nightlies/ did show warnings for 067036e216. Those have now disappeared, but version is still the same. Odd.

OK, now it works right in all other ways, except that it still doesn't update extra screen info. Equipment and Inventory in main screen gets updated, but not in extra x-term.

Also noticed that ctrl-e which changes between inventory and equipment in that window doesn't work in stores (OTOH, it seems that it doesn't work in older 3.0.9 either, so this isn't actually a bug, just missing feature in stores).

                      Great, thanks a lot.

On a completely unrelated note. Is it possible to start a new game with your monster memory without having to commit suicide with any characters you are running? I quite like having a few games on the go at once.

I don't think there are in-game methods, but you can copy your savefile in different names, suicide the excess ones and start new chars with those. Suicides don't go in scoreboard, so that should be invisible for the game.

Yeah I could do that, but any additional monster memory I fill out will be lost when I go back to the older character.

Also for some reason I feel like it is cheating going back to a character that I know is dead (even through suicide).

I'm getting a crash on angband-rc58056f377 when I try to chuck a flask of oil at fang (or it might have been grip).

                            Assertion failed!

Confirmed. Throwing flask of oil causes crash. Actually looks like throwing anything causes crash.
