    these features would be nice

Would like if squelch items was laid out a little better. I generally have stat and stat restore potions off, but occasionally some creature is able to harsh my stat and I need one. Currently an unorganized list makes it slightly harder to find the stat potions so I can see them again (I have squelch items not shown). I would like it if these things were organized in more logical groups with all the stats close to each other and the Restore and Gain (as well as lose?) potions are adjacent like this:

    [ ] Strength [ ] Restore Strength [x] Weakness
    [ ] Charisma [ ] Restore Charism [x] Ugliness

    etc.

Also, I'm always hunting for good speed rings, but with 2 rings at (+14), I would like to squelch all rings at or below that number. I would like a more complicated squelch entry that would squelch items below a certain setting. Instead of squelching all rings of speed, I would like to set a number so all rings below that number are squelched. Obviously this would be nice for other types of rings too, maybe even weapons and armor.
Ring of Speed - squelch below [15]

As for ammunition, I only carry one type of firing weapon and wish I could squelch/ignore all other types of ammo. (Is there an auto-inscription that I could use that would drop things immediately, i.e. arrows and shots since I only want bolts?)

I don't expect this would be high priority features, but I would appreciate it. Thanks so much.

Ammo types are split out in the squelch options (from '=' => squelch settings), so you can squelch arrows but leave bolts, for example.

I'm not sure that the effort is worth the gain, for squelching based on bonus. And actually, it wouldn't avoid the larger problem: you still have to ID the RoS before you can find out it's not as good as what you have.

        another tiny gripe

When going into settings (=) and squelch (sS) I can use either lower or upper case S.

but to get to the quality settings, lower case Q does not work, must be upper case. it's a tiny thing, but still gets me.

I'm playing 3.0.9b and that doesn't seem to be the case. My squelch settings don't have ammo, except in Quality settings, and I only get the normal quality settings to choose from (none, cursed, average, good(strong), good(weak), artifacts)

Yes, it is a bit of effort for little gain. But it would save me some trouble dropping/killing items, though, when I ID them and find they're not up to standard.

What more do you need? If you want to squelch bolts and shots, then squelch "all but artifacts" - since there is no artifact ammo, you'll squelch all bolts and shots, leaving only arrows at whatever squelch level you want.

IIRC NPP has something a little like pval-squelch. Probably worth looking into borrowing rather than reinventing. I agree that the squelch interface can be improved - it's been unchanged since David Blackston wrote it a decade or so ago.

Would like to squelch them before pseudo IDing them, since they take up room in my inventory while I'm wading through piles of treasure. Dropping/killing them manually is tiresome with all the key presses.

It's not a major issure, for sure, but would improve the quality of my personal experience.

Squelch before ID is probably not going to happen. It has been considered, and it definitely has its advocates, but there are concerns it might make things too easy...you learn TOO much. This is linked to issues with item detection, which is often considered much too powerful right now.

You don't need pseudo for squelching non-artifacts since artifact status is now noticed on pickup. The suggestion should work for you if you are playing a recent version. I don't know whether it is in 3.1.2.v2.

Thanks for the hints. I thought I was playing a recent version. Not sure where I downloaded it because it seemed like the recent... but now I see that I'm a few levels back and will move to 3.1.2
